Mitsubishi Lancer Awarded 2009 "Top Safety Pick" For Mid-size Sedans!
Mitsubishi dealers were ecstatic on September 29, 2008, when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety announced that after earning the top rating in all crash-test evaluations, the IIHS awarded its “Top Safety Pick” to the 2009
Mitsubishi Lancer. In addition, the national Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2009
Mitsubishi Lancer “five stars out of a possible five for protecting the driver in front crashes, four stars for front-seat passenger protection in front crashes, five stars for front-seat protection in side crashes and four stars for the rear passengers’ protection in side crashes” as well as a “four-star rollover rating for both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.”
According to Road and Track, the 2009 Lancer’s standard safety features include seven airbags: “a pair in the front for the driver and front passenger, a side-impact bag in each of the front seats, curtain bags that deploy from each side of the headliner, and a single knee bag that prevents the driver from sliding beneath the dash in a frontal collision.”

Mitsubishi Outlander Awarded 2009 "Top Safety Pick" for Crossover SUVs!
After rigorous testing last August, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the crossover SUV, the 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander “Top Safety Pick”. The 2009 Outlander received “good” ratings, which is the top rating a vehicle can receive from the three crash test evaluations. The 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander’s safety features includes advanced air bag features, front side airbags, rear seat head restraint, front head airbags along with numerous other features.
After the announcement that another Mitsubishi car had received a “Top Safety Pick” award, the Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Dan Kuhnert himself was quoted saying , “The Outlander’s right-sized blend of car, sport and utility is true to the ideal of a CUV… Anchored by the positive IIHS results and great efficiency, it makes a balanced choice among crossover utility vehicles.”
